A while ago, I was looking through a list of Star Wars characters, and I found some quite interesting names.
Canon Character CaC2 Character
Kazdan Paratus Kazadan SarsisJorus C’baoth Jorus Travar
Arvel Crynyd Ristan Arvel (Kazadan's apprentice)
Falon Grey Corynn Falon
Jarael Jaraal Starrunner
Astri Oddo Astrid Shekk
Shaak Ti Kian Shekk
Shaak Ti Master Ti
((Sorry about the spacing between the names. TAB didn't work.))
Interesting, hmm? I suppose only one saying goes here.
Great minds think alike.

Haha, cool.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea Shekk and Astrid were even close to other names.
Well, Astrid's a real name.
DeleteOh, horror of horrors. There's nothing worse than realizing that you're not as original as you thought. ;P my one comfort lies in the second "a" in Kazadan's name. And I don't think Kazdan would be pronounced similarly to Kazadan's, anyway. :P Its more of a "Kay" sound, not a "Kazz" sound.
ReplyDeleteOriginal—the origin lies with you. If you made up the name, then by the meaning of the word original, you're still original.
DeleteI started pronouncing 'Kazadan' as 'Kay-zuh-dan' after you noted that on CaC2. Ages ago. I used to pronounce it 'Kaz-a-dan'.
True. But someone beat me to inventing it. ;)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think a lot of people pronounced it differently until I said something. ;P It looks more like "Kazz" not "Kayz."
I noticed the similarities between Kazdan and Kazadan pretty quickly, but not the others. And I forgot about the proper pronunciation of Kazadan's name, and keep forgetting, and probably will forget again :P
ReplyDeleteMost interesting.
